Since 1996 my work has primarily consisted of large, temporary indoor and outdoor installations sited in wide-open spaces. Laboriously planned and constructed, they are then dismantled and exist only in memory or in photographs.
The collage drawings are spontaneously constructed images made as a counter-balance to the impermanence of the installations. They often begin as photographs taken of the installations that are then printed onto translucent rice paper, torn into small pieces and puzzled back together as ephemeral images.
All of the collage drawings are 17” x 12.5” (framed 21” x 16”).
They are printed with archival ink on rice paper, mounted on Okawara Japanese paper.
